The Farmers Market held in the car park of the Kyle Centre Shopping Centre, on the first Saturday of each month.
Ayr Racecourse hosts the Scottish Grand National and The Ayr Gold Cup.

The Citadel Leisure Centre offers a sports hall, squash courts and three swimming pools.
The famous Gaiety Theatre which opened in 1902 was unfortunately shut by the council in 2009, but
hopefully someone with vision might reopen it.
The towns most visible landmark is the Wallace Tower which sits on the High Street.
It dates from 834 and commemorates Sir William Wallace. It was built in 1832
Ayr's new brig was built in the 1870's, and the Auld Brig dates back to 1470.
Finally the history of the Scottish Government can be traced back to Ayr,
it's where Scotlands first ever parliament was held by Robert the Bruce in 1315.
